Concierge medicine is modern healthcare model that focuses on increasing the quality of preventative care available to patients. The membership-based approach allows your doctor to provide enhanced medical care by seeing a smaller number of patients and working directly for the patients, instead of insurance companies.
Concierge medicine is beneficial for people who:
If any of these conditions apply to you, Bozeman Concierge Medicine may be a great fit for you.
A membership to Bozeman Concierge Medicine is a one-year commitment to subscribing to services with the practice. Dues are paid in advance monthly, or all at once for a 10% discount.
As a member, you gain access to basic primary care, as well as enhanced medical care that would typically be denied by insurance companies.
Membership includes:
Specialty Supplies
Certain procedures may require specialty medication or equipment that are unique to the treatment you require.
Examples include:
If you require specialty medication or equipment, you will be billed for these items based on the cost to the practice. You will not be billed for any standard medication or equipment used, or the additional time required to do a procedure. Your physician is highly motivated to keep the cost of your care down, and only the necessary equipment and medication will be used.
On-Site Immunizations
Keeping up-to-date vaccines on hand is cost-prohibitive for a small practice. Although Bozeman Concierge Medicine does not offer on-site immunizations, we routinely review the CDC immunization recommendations and can direct you to low-cost or no-cost immunization providers.
Chronic Pain Management
Bozeman Concierge Medicine does not manage chronic pain or prescribe chronic pain medications. We do not carry pain medications or controlled substances on-site, and we do not routinely prescribe them.
Hospital Admissions
If you require hospitalization, a Bozeman Concierge Medicine doctor will not be your admitting doctor. As an independent practice, Bozeman Concierge Medicine is not affiliated with any hospital. However, Dr. Rosenthal will be available for care coordination and patient advocacy.
Expenses Incurred Outside of the Practice
Please note that your membership specifically covers the care you receive at Bozeman Concierge Medicine and does not cover expenses incurred at other physician offices, pharmacies, or hospitals.
In general, Family Practice and Internists practice Primary Care, also known as Preventative Care. They develop continued treatment plans for patients to maintain health and prevent disease. Internists specialize in treating adults, while Family Practice physicians treat adults and children.
Emergency Physicians specialize in acute care, and the rapid recognition, evaluation, care, and stabilization of patients, both adults and children, in the Emergency Room. In their practice, they are required to have a comprehensive understanding of medicine that is expansive in both breadth and depth, as they treat emergencies and non-emergencies of all types for all groups of people. In addition to effectively and efficiently treating patients, Emergency Physicians routinely coordinate care with specialists, which further enhances their ability to understand a patient’s medical condition and advocate on their behalf.
Traditionally, Emergency Physicians are not involved in the continued treatment plans that a patient receives. However, after years of witnessing how the current primary care model isn’t working, and how many urgent care and Emergency Room visits could have been avoided in the first place, Dr. Rosenthal is ready to shift his focus from treating emergencies to preventing them.

Most insurance companies do not reimburse patients for concierge care. However, there may be the possibility of using HSA funds to pay for membership dues. Patients wishing to use their HSA funds will need to work with the physician to establish a billing schedule unique to their situation.
Bozeman Concierge Medicine does not accept insurance as payment for membership dues or equipment and medications used in the practice. However, your insurance will still be accepted by pharmacies, specialists, labs, and hospitals.
If Dr. Rosenthal refers you to a specialist or lab, or if you are prescribed a medication, he will assist in providing the appropriate documentation to your insurance.
Yes. The primary role of insurance is to protect you in the event of a life event that could drain your finances, also known as a catastrophic event. Bozeman Concierge Medicine highly recommends you have some form of insurance, or join a healthshare organization, to ensure you are covered in such a case.
However, joining Bozeman Concierge Medicine could have an impact on the level of insurance you require. For example, if you are in generally good health, you may find it cost-effective to pay for a membership to cover your primary and urgent care needs, and subscribe to a health share to protect you for emergencies. This combination typically costs significantly less than low-deductible insurance.

Yes. Dr. Rosenthal enjoys working with families and children. In fact, children can become members at a steeply discounted rate when their parents join. If you have a large family of 6 or more, feel free to speak with Dr. Rosenthal about creating a family membership plan that is right for you.
In the event of a life-threatening emergency, call 911.
If you have an emergency that is not life-threatening, such as a broken bone or cut, you may choose to contact Dr. Rosenthal for an emergency consultation. In many cases, he can meet you at any hour in the office and save you the expense of an urgent care or Emergency Room visit.
Should a member have a life-threatening emergency and require hospitalization, they (or a loved one) can contact Dr. Rosenthal to have him advocate on the patient’s behalf. Where possible, he will meet members in the emergency room to help patients navigate treatment.
Yes. Your membership is a one year physician retainer, and you will be accountable for dues even when you do not use the services provided.
Bozeman Concierge Medicine strives to make using your membership as easy as possible. Even when you are not sick, there are many services you can take advantage of to help care for your body, including continued lifestyle consultations to help you set and achieve your health goals.
The Bozeman Concierge Medicine model requires that you commit to and pay your membership dues before receiving treatment as part of the physician retainer.
If you wish to use your HSA to cover membership dues, please schedule a consultation to explore a membership plan that will work for you.
Bozeman Concierge Medicine is boutique medical practice that will always stay small. Limiting the number of members allows Dr. Rosenthal to give each patient the attention and care they deserve. While the number of patients Bozeman Concierge Medicine accepts is limited, that doesn’t mean the practice will stop enhancing the care patients receive.
